The right of the owner of a ship that was partly responsible for the high profile loss of the car carrier Tricolor to limit liability is set for a new court review.

The Bavarian owner of the 16,600-dwt bulk carrier Clary (built 1979) has won an appeal application that will see the question of who foots the huge bill for the capsize and total loss of the Tricolor reviewed.

The capsized Tricolor was sliced up in situ during a huge wreck removal operation.
