The incident has prompted some uncomfortablequestions about the safety record of the 16,750-cbm LPG carrier Golden Miller(ex-Fezzano, built 1993), which landed in the hot water with the US Coast Guardduring an inspection earlier this year.
Accordingto data from Equasis the vessel was hit with a citation back in January whenauthorities from Port Arthur, Texas uncovered technical deficiencies related toits cargo tanks and the installation of fire-extinguishing equipment.
