A Beluga Shipping-chartered vessel which was boarded by pirates in the Arabian Sea on Thursday is now safe after crew hid in an onboard ‘citadel’.
The welfare of crew onboard the 17,355-dwt multi-purpose vessel BBC Orinoco (built 2008) was the subject of much speculation after it came under assault early on Thursday.
However, its German manager Reedereigruppe Freese confirmed on Friday morning that the ship and crew are now safe and underway.
