A Chinese ship with 29 crew has been hijacked by Somali pirates in the Arabian Sea on Friday night.
The capture of the 22,400-dwt Yuan Xiang (built 1978) comes shortly after the release of another ship connected with China which takes a particularly dim view of piracy in the region.
The Panama-flagged ship was also seized in the general region where a German multi-purpose vessel managed to evade hijacking in the past few days after being boarded by pirates.
