The family of a crew member who died during the Costa Concordia disaster has filed a $400m lawsuit against Carnival Corp and Costa Crociere.
Unlike similar complaints against the Miami-based cruise giant and its offspring in the wake of the 13 January tragedy this appears to be first class action wrongful death case filed in the US.
The estate of Sandor Feher, the deceased Hungarian musician whose body is widely believed to have been the first of the 35 victims identified by search and rescue teams, is suing Carnival and its Italian affiliate in the Southern District of New York.
