A BW LPG tanker and a products tanker collided this weekend just north of the port of Chennai off the southeast coast of India.

The 82,291-cbm BW Maple (built 2007) and the 44,845-dwt Dawn Kanchipuram (built 1996) came into contact about 3.7km from Kamarajar Port.

Martin Ackermann, chief executive of BW LPG, says the BW Maple has suffered minor damage to its bulbous bow but remains otherwise fully intact.
