BMW of North America has lodged a $7.3m lawsuit alleging that a fire on an American Roll-On, Roll-Off Carrier (ARC) was sparked by a defective Ford vehicle.

The German carmaker’s US affiliate launched litigation in a federal court in New York alleging all of its 187 new BMW cars on the 5,910-ceu Courage (built 1991) were damaged during the journey.

As TradeWinds has reported, the US-flag Courage suffered a fire off the United Kingdom in June of last year.
