Corrosion as well as deficiencies that posed a fire risk and a serious failure of the safety management system led to the detention of the 41,500-dwt bulk carrier C Rhapsody (built 1983) when the vessel was inspected during a UK port call.

Maritime safety inspectors identified 21 deficiencies with six serious enough to warrant detention when they boarded the C Rhapsody which is part of the fleet of George Lemos’ Piraeus based Blossom Maritime Corp.
