A blast has hit a Greek bulker at a Brazilian port yesterday.

Authorities at Paranagua port in south-eastern Brazil said the incident took place on the 84,074-dwt Akaki (built 2013).

Akaki had loaded a cargo of Brazilian corn, which can increase the risk of such incidents after fumigation procedures, Rakkas explains.
