TheAl Gharrafa (built2008) was involved in a collision withthe Liberia-registered 10,114-teu containership Hanjin Italy(2011) at the Singapore Straits Traffic Separation Scheme on 28 December of last year.

The Q Flex has been at anchor ever since and today the ship’s manager, OSG Shipmanagement UK, says the Al Gharrafa will remain at hercurrent location for the ship-to-ship (STS) operation. 

The company tells TradeWinds that therequired procedures have been followed and permission from appropriateauthorities has been granted.
