The Philippines says it has killed a notorious commander of the Abu Sayyaf terror and piracy group.
General Eduardo Ano told the AP news agency that Alhabsy Misaya died in a clash with marines late on Friday in jungle between the towns of Indanan and Parang in Sulu province.
The group has been involved in a string of kidnappings from cargoships and tugs in recent months.
