Viking Cruises founder and chairman Torstein Hagen believes LNG is not the clean fuel it is made out to be, and shipowners ordering gas-powered vessels risk damaging the planet.
Hagen said his company has been working for years with expert consultants to study the impact of marine fuels on the environment, and the findings have led him to dismiss LNG as a fuel option for Viking’s eight newbuildings.
