US President Donald Trump has nominated a conservative think tank’s naval warfare expert and former career military officer to lead the agency that oversees domestic shipping policy.
The Congressional Record shows Heritage Foundation senior research fellow Brent Sadler has been nominated to be US maritime administrator.
TradeWinds reported just days after the US election in November that Sadler was a leading contender for the post, which runs the US Maritime Administration (MARAD).
