The International Association of Classification Societies (IACS) has set up an internal talking group to streamline practices in giving clients some breathing space during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The move comes a reaction to calls by industry groups such as Martecma, an association of influential Greek technical managers, which asked IACS members to become more flexible in their surveys, in order to keep ships sailing and international trade flowing.
