A major figure in creating the Paris Agreement on Climate Change has urged shipping regulators to vote down a series of proposed short-term measures to curb the industry’s carbon emissions at a decisive meeting.
The tweet by Laurence Tubiana, who was French climate change minister when the 2015 Paris Agreement was drawn up, comes as the International Maritime Organization is weighing the proposed carbon emission reduction measures known as J/5 in a meeting that started Monday.
