Marine fuels tracking start-up BunkerTrace has signed up its first ship operator, Marfin Management, for its services aimed at ensuring bunker quality following the IMO 2020 switch to low-sulphur fuels.
Monaco-based Marfin, which operates 11 bulkers up to supramax size, will use BunkerTrace to track fuel supplies, using its synthetic DNA markers and recording each transaction on a blockchain-based platform.
