The International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT) is urging the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to step up its proposals on reducing shipping's carbon emissions.
The ICCT has crunched the numbers on an international agreement that is set to be put before the IMO’s Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) later this month for government approval.
It said that the current proposal has the potential to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by only 0.7%
