Bunker testing company Veritas Petroleum Services (VPS) is reporting an unusually high number of problems with sediment levels in low-sulphur fuel oil (LSFO).
The revelation comes as the shipping industry continues to grapple with the fuel switchover after the IMO 2020 sulphur cap entered into force on 1 January.
VPS issues alerts to its clients whenever fuel quality matters arise in a specific port or region, in order to forewarn operators and help them avoid operational difficulties.
