The Propeller Club of Piraeus held a reception to honour former shipowner George Foustanos, who has dedicated his life to the study and historical research of Greek shipping.
Foustanos decided to break with his shipowning past to become a shipping historian back in the early 1990s, with the backing of lifelong friend Captain Nikolas S Lemos.
Little support
However, all of his friends and relatives did not share his enthusiasm at the time, Foustanos reminisced during the acceptance of an achievement award.
