The US Maritime Alliance has filed an unfair labour practice charge against the union threatening to shut down container and vehicle ports across the Atlantic Seaboard and Gulf Coast.
The allegations by USMX, an employer’s group, against the International Longshoremen’s Association come with less than five days before the start of an expected strike.
The charge filed with the National Labor Relations Board asked the federal agency to order the ILA to the bargaining table.
