Sweden’s largest container port said volumes were up just 2% year-on-year to 213,000-teu for the April to June period versus the 209,000-teu seen a year ago.
Around 30% of Sweden’s imports and exports are shipped via the Port of Gothenburg, which is also the largest port in Sweden for container traffic, accounting for almost 60% of the country’s volumes.
“The year began with a weak first quarter and a fall of five per cent in the number of containers shipped through the port,” said Port of Gothenburg
“Some 418,000-teu passed through the Port of Gothenburg during the first six months of the year."
