The proposed changes will ease restrictions on ships whose port calls in Cuba involve the “humanitarian” trades such as grain cargoes, Holland & Knight lawyers Jonathan Epstein and Ronald Oleynik told clients today.
The embargo, which has been in place since 1960, blocks ships from entering US waters for 180 days after visiting the Communist nation, although some shipments are currently allowed in limited circumstances.
