US cruiseship owner Carnival Corp will plough more than $150m into port development in Mexico.
The office of the country’s president Felipe Calderon said Carnival plans to build terminals in Cozumel and Baja California.
Carnival CEO Gerald Cahill said the line had previously invested $100m in Mexico, a major destination for its vessels.
The move comes at a time when several cruise companies have cancelled stops in Mazatlan due to increased drug-related violence there.
