Ten people were killed as rebel forces retook a key Libyan oil port briefly raided by pro-Gaddafi forces on Wednesday.
Operations at Marsa el Brega are described currently as “normal” after some fierce fighting in the town involving about two fighter jets, a port source told TradeWinds.
At around 07:00 on Wednesday government troops stepped in to take control of the oil refinery which is run by Sirte Oil Company, an offshoot of state-run energy outfit National Oil Corp, a communications source at the port said.
