The family of Greek-Cypriot owner Polys Hajioannou is expanding its fleet with a 10-year old panamax that was previously controlled by Japanese interests.
The 76,000-dwt Kasado-built Crystal Wind (built 2009) has gone for about $13m, according to brokers in the UK, US and Greece.
This is roughly in line with the $11.5m that Qatari buyers, possibly S’hail Shipping & Maritime Services, are said to have paid last week for the Imabari-built 76,000-dwt ES Sakura (built 2007).
