EA Marine Services, the ownersof the 1,125-dwt Zafirah (built 1991), lost contact with the ship about 174.4miles southeast of Con Son Island on 19 November.
Itsubsequently emerged that the ship had been hijacked by up to eleven piratesarmed with knives and pistols.
Twodays later a Vietnamese fishing vessel rescued the crew of the Zafirah who hadbeen forced off the ship by its captors.
