Golden Energy Management said the 24 Russian seafarers on board the 75,000–dwtvessel (built 2008) were in good health on Wednesday, following the seizure offLome, Togo, on Tuesday morning.
Thecompany, a unit of Restis-controlled Enterprises Shipping & Trading, added:“The vessel is presently sailing off the coast of Nigeria under the control ofpirates who have the intention to steal the vessel’s cargo.
“The owning company are in continuous communication with the relevantauthorities as well as the families of the crew for the smooth handling of thisunfortunate incident and will keep all parties updated as necessary.”
