The 499–gt Armada Tugas 1 (built 2003) was seized by gunmen off Bayelsa in the Niger Delta on 7 February, Bergen Risk Solutions (BRS) said.
Within 12 hours it was thought to have been involved in a raid on Carisbrooke Shipping’s 8,100-dwt cargoship Esther C (built 2008), from which three crew were taken, and then the 4,200–gt anchor-handler Walvis 7 (built 1982), from which the master and chief engineer were kidnapped three days later.
