Relatives of Indian crew on board the hijacked tanker Royal Grace have pleaded for action to free the ship from Somalian pirates.

The 6,800-dwt Dubai-controlled chemical carrier (built 1984) was seized in March, but little has been heard from it since.

The families have written to the government seeking help to release the men.

“It has been more than two-and-a-half months that we are living in complete darkness about our near ones after the Somalian pirates hijacked the ship on March 1,” said 57-year-old K Chandran of Kerala.
