Its 51,100-dwt Abu Dhabi Star (built 2008) was snatched close to the Lagos coast today, a statement reveals.
Pioneer says it has contacted the crew of the vessel and all are safe and uninjured.
The gang who boarded and seized the ship has yet to make its intentions clear.
“Pioneer is taking the matter extremely seriously and its primary concern is for the wellbeing and safe return of its crew members,” it said.
