The 15,000–dwt Korex SPB No 1 (built 2012) was undergoing a port state control check at anchorage in Manila on Monday when the theft occurred, the Philippine Coast Guard said.
Crewman Ye Yint Lin noticed the raft was missing from the poop deck and reported this to the master.
A search failed to find the boat.
The vessel is operated by Korea Express.
