The 1,138-dwt Sun Birdie (built 1993) was attacked by the raiders on 29 January, when it lost contact with its owner.
It was laden with 700 tonnes of fuel oil and was carrying 11 crew: eight Myanmarese and three Indonesians.
Malaysian authorities found the vessel the next day with seven hijackers onboard.
Their other two colleagues had jumped into the sea.
