India’s supreme court ruled on Monday that Italian marine Massimiliano Latorre can extend his time at home on medical grounds.
He and colleague Salvatore Girone are accused of killing two fishermen by shooting from the 104,000-dwtEnrica Lexie(built 2008) off Kerala, after reportedly mistaking them for pirates.
A hearing on jurisdiction in the case has been set for August.
Latorre was allowed home in September 2014 after suffering a stroke.
