An attempt by pirates to hijack a new Chinese bulker has been foiled by an Iranian warship.
Nasco's 57,000-dwt Heilan Cruiser (built 2012), with 25 crew on board, was en route to Singapore when it came under attack by a number of Somalis on several speedboats in the Sea of Oman.
The Iranian navy rushed to the scene after they received a request for help from the vessel.
