The 5,800-dwt Matrix I (built1992) was hit during the early hours of Saturday morning 40 nautical miles offthe coast of oil-producing Bayelsa state, Reuters reports.
It is not immediately clear howmany of the 17 strong crew have been snatched from the ship, which iscontrolled by Val Oil of Glyfada.
A dozen Pakistani seafarers wereon board the ship along with five Nigerians when the incident occurred.
