Fears of a swarm attack by pirates on an AP Moller-Maersk ship off the coast of Iran have proven unfounded.
Armed guards onboard the 19,600-dwt Maersk Texas (built 2011) had thought up to 20 skiffs were closing in on the vessel as it made its way out of Fujairah, anti-piracy sources say.
But it has since emerged that the skiffs were occupied by fishermen rather than pirates.
