Mohammed Abdi Hassan, whoboasts the nickname Big Mouth, was picked up by police inBrussels this weekend.
According to the BBC, he now faces several charges, includingone of hijacking.
Hassan is said to have been an active pirate for eight years,before hanging up his ladder.
A UN report last year referred to Afweyneh as a notorious and influentialleaders of the Hobyo-Harardhere Piracy Network, the BBC says.
