The French owner said the 82-tbp anchor handler Bourbon Liberty 249 (built 2011) was boarded on Monday.
Six Russian and one Estonian seafarer were snatched while nine others were allowed to remain on board.
Bourbon said the remaining crew are safe and sound and the vessel is making for the Nigerian Port of Onne.
The company did not say if any of the seafarers had been assaulted or anything had been stolen.
