Swedish tanker owner Furetank has hailed a “double win” in appointing its first female chief engineer.
Ailene Barrios has been promoted to a rank rarely achieved by Filipino women in the industry, she told the company’s website.
She is heading the technical department on board the newly built 18,000-dwt product carrier Fure Vyl.
