Samuel Norton has been named chief executive of Overseas Shipholding Group (OSG) as Ian Blackley prepares to retire.

The appointment, which was widely expected after Norton was brought into senior management in July, caps a series of management changes that has coincided with the New York-listed tanker's now-fulfilled efforts to spinoff its full international-flag fleet into International Seaways.

Norton will step into the role on 29 December, the same day that Blackley (pictured) departs.
