Former Gearbulk chief executive Lasse Peterson has been named chief executive of Great Lakes Dredge & Dock, the largest US dredger.
The Chicago area company said Peterson is also joining its board of directors.
Peterson has worked as a mergers-and-acquisitions consultant for the past three years but best known in shipping circles for leading bulker owner Gearbulk between 2006 and 2009.
He was also chief operating officer at construction and engineering giant CB&I from February 2009 to December 2013.
