Frontline Management’s acting chief executive Lars Barstad will continue in the role on a permanent basis from September.

Barstad was the crude tanker giant's commercial director when he was asked to lead the John Fredriksen-controlled company on an interim basis after former CEO Robert Hvide Macleod resigned abruptly in October 2020.

Frontline chairman Ola Lorentzon, in a statement released on Thursday announcing Barstad’s appointment, said: “The board is delighted to have appointed Lars Barstad, who has demonstrated his abilities serving as interim CEO.
