Mark Filanowski has been named chief operating officer at Pangaea Logistics Solutions, putting the US maritime veteran back in an executive role at a listed shipping company.
Filanowski, a founding partner at private Stamford shipowner Intrepid Shipping, has already been a board member at Rhode Island-based Pangaea since the bulker owner was listed on the Nasdaq in October 2014.
"For the last 18 months, Mark has been facilitating projects essential to our corporate strategy, including acquisition of the minority interest in our subsidiary Nordic Bulk Holding and securing long-term financing for our newbuilding projects," said Pangaea chief executive Ed Coll.
