A German TV show singled out a cruiseship owned by Carnival subsidiary AIDA Cruises for discharging high levels of particulates. This comes amid increasing scrutiny of shipping emissions, particularly for the cruise industry, in Europe.
"Plusminus," which is carried on German public broadcaster ARD, says that onboard tests its producers conducted during a seven-day cruise aboard the 3,286-berth AIDAPrima (built 2016) showed particulate emissions running above similar measurements taken at street level in major German cities.
