Sado Steamship is forecasting a loss-making year after its nine-month financial report turned negative.
The net loss in the nine months to 30 September was JPY 233m ($2.25m), versus a profit of JPY 846m in the same period a year ago.
Revenue dipped to JPY 8.32bn from JPY 8.95bn year-on-year.
For the full year, the Japanese company is predicting a loss of JPY 386m, against a profit of JPY 482m in the year to 31 March 2016.
