Italy’s Caronte & Tourist is ordering a new LNG-fuelled ferry in Turkey.
Norwegian designer LMG Marin said the large double-ended vessel will be built at Sefine Shipyard.
The LMG 290-DEG ship will be 133m long and 21.5m. It will be the first LNG-powered ferry in the Mediterranean.
The vessel will carry 290 cars on two vehicle decks, as well as 1,500 passengers.
“The propulsion will be based on a gas-electric system using three dual-fuel engines,” LMG said.
