Dutch owner Vroon has signed a five-year charter for a standby safety vessel.
The company said its 600-dwt VOS Famous (built 2015) also has extension options to work with Premier Oil's Catcher FPSO.
The deal involving the new production unit was won through a "competitive tender", it added.
Vroon said: "What is hugely encouraging is Premier Oil’s pro-active approach and drive to explore enhanced recovery technology and invest in modern, state-of-the-art tonnage."
