Norway’s Island Offshore is expanding its fleet with an order for up to three versatile ocean energy construction vessels (OECVs).
Fincantieri-owned shipbuilder Vard, which will also design the subsea and cable-laying ships, called the deal “very important”.
One firm 120-metre vessel will be delivered in the first quarter of 2027, with two options attached.
