Svitzer CEO Henriette Thygesen is the new chairman of Maersk Supply Service.
She will join the board on 1 June.
The vacancy opened up due to Maersk vice chief executive and energy division CEO Claus Hemmingsen deciding to leave the group.
In March, Maersk gave up trying to find a buyer for Maersk Supply as part of its strategic move to divest the last of its energy businesses.
