TechnipFMC will be deploying its flagship pipe-layer to help BP expand one of the largest oil fields in the Gulf of Mexico.
The Houston-based subsea technology company confirmed Tuesday the 33,800-gt Deep Blue (built 2001) would be used to aid BP in its expansion of the Thunder Horse South Expansion 2 project, 200 km southeast of New Orleans and 1,830 meters underwater.
